Varanasi 2 days 1 Night Tour Itinerary
Day 1:- You will leave from your hotel after breakfast, at 7 AM to visit Kashi Vishwanath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva and is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. This present form of the temple was constructed by our famous Maharani Ahilya Bai Holkar of Indore, in 1780.
Since you are already in Varanasi, why miss out the disputed Gyanvapi mosque site, which is a stone’s throw away from the Kashi Vishwanath temple? Now even the Supreme Court has allowed Pooja inside a cellar of the mosque.

Nearby the Kashi Vishwanath Temple is situated a fine temple of Devi Annapoorna, believed to be the Goddess of Foods.
Lunch Break You can take some time out for your lunch or snacks as per your convenience and need.
The next leg on this tour is the Dashashwamedh Ghat, famous among all in Varanasi as all aarti’s are done here. The preceding Pooja rituals are also worth watching so we suggest you to arrive a bit early. The main ritual starts at 5 pm and you will see saints with saffron robes conducting this Aarti, where each one has a specific spot and they offer flowers to Maa Gange. This ritual adds more interest when hundreds of oil lamps formed like snakes are waved to specific mantra chants. After this Aarti, you will see hundreds of small oil lamps floating on the river offering a spectacular view, as if golden stars have come down from the heaven. After watching this grand spectacle, we advise you to take a boat ride and watch the gleaming, illuminated city view.
Varanasi is an Artistic City. Time for you to visit nearby markets for shopping. The Banarasi Silk Saree is the most famous in the world and is much cheaper here than elsewhere. Next, you can shop Wooden Toys, and all toys come in the form of animals in bright colours, which look utmost beautiful. There is also a wooden box made in the form of Lord Shiva and when you open, the whole Shiva family is inside. This work of art is so unique and elegant it qualifies as a memento.
Varanasi, Kashi, or Benares displays myriad designs of Flutes, Rudraksh Malas, colourful bangles, glass beads and crystal and stone carved Shivalinga and Ramnami clothes that are sure to floor you for their ingenuity.
Gulabi Meenakari is the highlight of Varanasi where artisans work on gold and silver metals. If metals is not your forte, try out the knotted carpets what will catch your attention. How can this holy city not offer any Banarasi Mithai. The Lal Peda is a specialty of this city.
Day 1 ends Head over to your dinner and then to your hotel for a satisfying sleep. The following day will be slightly hectic and cover more of the city of Varanasi.
Day 2:- Get up early in the morning, have breakfast and be ready to depart to Sarnath, 20 km away. Here, Buddha had preached sermon to his five disciples namely, Kaundiya, Bashpa, Bhadrika, Ahanaman and Ashuajit, and people opine that from here Buddhism was launched. Later King Ashoka built many Stupas and of these, the Chaukhandi Stupa stands out. There is also a mini zoo, and the Deer Park within. The Sarnath museum displays is also a must visit.
Sarnath is very sacred for Jains as it is the site of asceticism and death of Shreyamshanath, the eleventh Tirthankar.
Lunch Break By now you would be feeling hungry, so take your time for lunch and some leisurely time after which we head back to the city for sightseeing and visiting other famous temples.
